Earth Medicine ~ Playing in the Dirt is Therapeutic

This is my dream garden/outdoor space
I've had a wonderfully productive day today and enjoy probably the warmest day we will have for the rest of the year. It was over 30 C out there today and I mowed and trimmed the lawn and planted some new seeds for next year that I hope take as well as extended my front flower garden and added another day lily. I have 3 in the front one at each end and one in the middle and they are all different colours. I also planted some poppies accidentally all over the neighbours lawn too when my bag of seeds blew away in the breeze, oh well, a gift from mother nature.  I so look forward to see what blooms and grows when the springtime comes. I planted some poppies and a variety of hollyhocks of various colours all over as well as a wonderfully smelly one with white flowers that I hope take and grow. I planted some lilacs and some rhubarb and even some mint for the girl next door who says she is a terrible gardener and mine are so beautiful. In the springtime I plan to make some palate beds and cover them with chicken wire to keep the deer out as best I can.  It is nearly the first day of Autumn and here I am planning for spring. What a forward thinker lol. I guess the farmers do that too as the work is never done.

This is my indoor dream kitchen
It is so therapeutic to play in the dirt and each year I am trying to add more garden space and grow more vegetables as I learn what and how to grow things. I have enjoyed fresh lettuce and kale most of the summer and only now am having to buy it from the farmers market or co-op and since I so prefer it to store bought organic I have bought a small covered greenhouse and shall attempt to grow some greens and tomatoes in my front window this winter. It gets sun all day and because it is covered and secure, PepĂ© should keep out of it ( off it might be a challenge lol) and not use it as his litter box. I am looking forward to seeing what will happen and will be setting that up next week. It is as close as I can get this indoor dream kitchen lol.

The girls played outside for about 3 hours while I gardened so they got plenty of grounding time as well. Animals need to touch the earth as much humans do, so make sure that your fir babies get plenty of outside time while they can. Pixie is so cute and has no fear of machines which make the weed eating part a bit challenging as she wanted to be right there and play with it lol. I did manage to get it done without any injuries so this is good. Bella keeps a healthy boundary between and any equipment for some reason lol.

I also managed to get a lot of writing done and submitted my article for the predictions edition of the Sedona Journal. As well I have an article coming out in the next Issues Magazine which is kind of cool as it was a surprise. I thought she wanted something for the issue after that as this one is coming out very soon. Nice when it is unexpected  and easy too.

All is well and all is good. It is sometimes hard to keep your focus and your drive when there is a lot of energy floating around out there in the world and when you take the time to play in the dirt, it is not only very grounding, it is healing.

Assignment Human Angel ~ To Everything there is a Season

Your mission…

Should you choose to Remember is…

As you begin a new cycle, which you frequently do, remember that new adventures signal a completion and therefore new growth, new opportunities and more. Welcome in the new and celebrate that which you have completed. Job well done and now it is time to move on!

We are always experiencing cycles, even if you have never really paid attention or gave it much thought. We are starting the 2nd half or 3rd quarter of the year. We are all in that cycle. Those of you born this month are in a new year, therefore entering a new cycle. Those of you born this month should be used to the change that cycles brings since we are a 7 - the number of transition, July babies should at the very least used to change, if not crave it. I am a July baby and would move my furniture once a week if it worked in other ways, I therefore use blankets and pillows on the furniture in different colours and themes to shake things up (and to keep the cat hair to a minimum lol).

It is natural for things to transitions as that is what happens when we are on an evolving planet in time and space. It is in resisting this natural flow that we create obstacles and drama's for ourselves. To everything there is a season. Keep this in mind as you contemplate a life review of where you have been, what needs to be let go and what you want to keep working on. We are nearing a mercury retrograde (which cycles through about 3 times a year) and that is the perfect time to take things a bit slower and look at how things are progressing with you hopes, dreams and desires. Also consider where you are in your year and how that works with where things are at. This helps you to see the growth you are actually making. The first time I took stock of my life I was actually astounded by what I had accomplished thus far with many pitfalls and hurdles along the way. That is when I began to see the gift and then look for it in other seeming adverse situations I find myself in. Take the time over the next few weeks to do a review. Keep a journal as these are great markers for yourself (as well as perhaps another great book), and make sure to date it. It is like writing in your book of life. Also journaling can help to open up your communication with your guides, angels and ancestors, as you are usually in an alpha state when you journal and that is the perfect mindset for communication. Do not judge yourself, love yourself through the process. We are all works in progress, or we would be done with the earth experience and go home.

Remember to be gentle with yourself. Make this a special time to look at your cycles and see which ones you are nearing completion and get ready to finish them off. Take the time to review and you will enter the next stage with much more focus and clarity, therefore creating what you desire easier, faster, and grander than you did before.

Love and infinite light, Sharon

To Everything There is a Season

To everything there is a season
A time for every purpose under Heaven

A time to be born
and a time to die
A time to plant
and a time to pluck what is planted

A time to kill
and a time to heal
A time to break down
and a time to build up

A time to cast away stones
and a time to gather stones
A time to embrace
and a time to refrain from embracing

A time to gain
and a time to lose
A time to keep
and a time to cast away

A time to tear
and a time to sew
A time to keep silence
and a time to speak

A time of love
and a time of hate
A time of war
and a time of peace
The lyrics are taken almost verbatim from the Book of Ecclesiastes, as found in the King James Version (1611) of the Bible (Ecclesiastes 3:1), though the sequence of the words was rearranged for the song. Ecclesiastes is traditionally ascribed to King Solomon *Wikipedia*

Container Gardening - Gutter Gardening

Since I have lived in Apartments most of my adult life, I learned to container garden. Now that I have a sunny yard, I am learning new things. I still container garden as our yards are open common area. Last year I grew lettuce and tomato's that I ate most of the summer I even planted radishes throughout the summer as they mature quickly. It was fun to use my own stuff to add to the wonderful bag of vegetables I got all summer at the farmers market.  Being a vegetarian, I got the largest bag. I have to say, the vegetables picked the day before were amazing. And I tried things I never had before. I will get one again this summer.

I am also planning some new types of container gardening this year (which was why I started this post in the beginning), I digress... so anyway, this year I want to try to Gutter Garden. I have a side wall that gets a fair bit of sun and is open. I am planning to ask for some old gutters that would end up in a land fill. Not only is this helpful, there is not as much bending and you can layer several rows on the wall...
